People splitted apart, consumed by their hatred and grief. Not caring about anything or anyone anymore... Drowning in a deep pool of sadness. Not knowing what is real anymore, losing all touch with reality. It all seemed like a terrible nightmare in witch people were unable to wake up from.
Many people lost their family and loved ones. Especially the young didn't know how to react on this. All the potential to once make a difference in the world vanished, their dreams lost forever. No desire at all was left to build a new future.
Many of these young people were gathered, hatred can be a powerful weapon. They were gathered in a small rea in the north called the serenity region, guarded by the locally stationed forces of the nation. The government hoped that these people would turn out to be the perfect soldiers, since there wouldn't be any reason to hesitate. They simple just didn't have anything left to lose anymore. Among these survivors is a young boy that isolates himself even more than the rest.
His name is shinji zakuhara. Overwhelmed by his sadness. Haunted by flashbacks of recently passed tragedies which came with the war. Always clinging on a picture. The horrible memory of losing his little sister and mother haunts him in his dreams.
Tears dripping over the picture as it reminds him of his little sister when she gave him the picture. His little sister and his mother had just taken a picture in a local park before the sirens went off.
"look shinji, this is for you." She said with a smile. After which shinji answered happily. "No need to make a picture specially just for me, not a single day goes past without seeing you".
Then the sirens went off and an announcement was made to make sure people went to the bunker in the south. Shinji and his family ran as fast as they could to escape from the bloodshed that was happening behind them.
shinji's sister stopped to look behind. His mother screamed "come quickly before they catch up". Suddenly shinji noticed he had dropped the picture and ran back a little. He heard explosions near and turned around quickly and saw a missile was coming right at his mom and sister.
The memory of seeing the fear in the eyes of his mom and sister continues to haunt them. He fell crying on the ground. With tears streaming from his cheeks and touching the ground.
"It's all my fault, I could have saved them!"
