The Othellians had begun their assault on the planet with Spidertanks, leaving their signature across the land like a novelist to his final documentary. It had been a long assault with only a few survivors to remain. Families had been divided and deserted in the confusion of the war and many were left to fend for themselves, including HEARTLESS.
Thumbing his coffee cup while sitting at the badly burned table which used to sit him and his family at breakfast, HEART knew he had only a few resources in which to avenge his family. The Mech was his only means of defense and he had to get moving today as he needed to find a more reclusive area to hide from the scouts which were relentlessly hunting for the remaining survivors.
Looking out the window he could see the carnage, the incestuos odor of death lingered in the air and gave way to emotions he thought hed never had to witness. His beloved family, how could they have been taken so suddenly. Where were they now.
Going up the stairs which used to lead to the kids rooms, he stopped at the hallway closet door, reached inside and grabbed his shotgun and ammo. Over tearing eyes he looked at the family photo next to the door. How happy everyone looked. Everyone prim and proper in their best clothes. With not a care in the world on their minds.
HEART had to hurry now, as he could hear the army of Hercules and Blazewalkers getting closer and closer, taking sporatic shots to finish off what could be one of the surviving looking for food. The anger swelled inside him as he made his way back down the stairs, out the backdoor, and into the barn which hid his Mech from the eyes of the enemy.
Stopping just short of the barn door, HEART picked a single rose from his wifes favorite bush. He would carry this in his Mech and someday soon give it to his beloved wife.
Swinging the vast door open, Heart knew he had to get in fast and leave the area as quickly as he could. Doing a final check of the systems thrusters and engine he was satisfied for the time being. This would have to do until he could get to the SteelWarship where then he could make repairs and get the gear and supplies he needed.
As Heart started the engine and began his exit through the door, the sun had just begun to rise over the top of the lake where an indistiguishable ship had crashed. Hopefully one of theirs.
With a single breath of relief, "Its time to pay you sorry...", the engines roared and HEARTLESS was on his way.
